Dear ECOOP community member,

In 2004, AITO has established an annual prize in the name of the Ole-Johan Dahl
and Kristen Nygaard to honor their pioneering work on object-orientation. It is
my honor and duty to Chair the prize committee for 2007 awards.

The prize consists of two awards given to a senior and to a junior professional.
The senior professional should have made a significant long-term contribution to
the field in research or engineering. The junior professional should have made a
promising contribution to the field through a paper, a thesis or a prototype
implementation. The two prizes are presented each year at the ECOOP conference.

The award process relies on community nominations.

For the sake of *a lively object community*, please send nominations for
outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to our field of
object-orientation.

A simple mail to Dahl-Nygaard at aito.org, stating
    "Senior AITO Dahl-Nygaard Nomination" or
    "Junior AITO Dahl-Nygaard Nomination"
in the subject, with half a page justification is enough to nominate your
favorite scientist.
