We are extending the deadline for the paper submission to
Friday, April 27, 2007.
Afterward, the paper reviewing starts immediately without delay, in order
to meet the publishing deadline.
All information regarding paper submission requirements are elaborated in

IEEE ICPS Workshop on Agent-OrientedSoftware Engineering Challenges for
Ubiquitous and Pervasive Computing
July 15 - 20, 2007, Istanbul, Turkey
*******************************************************
To develop ubiquitous and pervasive services and applications, new
engineering methodologies and
paradigms have been arising in recent years in the areas of software
engineering, Multi-agent Systems
and Mobile Computing. The interaction paradigms have been classified into
three categories: the traditional
Client to Server Paradigm (CSP) and two alternative paradigms, Adaptive
services to Client paradigm (ASCP)
and Spontaneous Service Emergence paradigm (SEP). These alternative
paradigms that are more suitable
for Ubiquitous and Pervasive Computing respectively require self-organizing,
self-adaptive and emergence
capabilities to cope with dynamically changing context environments such as
computing contexts and user contexts.
To address these issues, software architectures involve many dynamically
interacting software agents.
This workshop aims to provide a forum in which to focus on Agent-Oriented
Software Engineering methods,
concepts, models, languages and tools that enable the design and development
of practical applications i
n the context of ubiquitous and pervasive computing (UPC). It aims to bring
together researchers, students
and professionals from Software Engineering area, Multi-agent Systems area
and Mobile Computing area to r
each a better understanding of the relationships between them and promote
their research efforts.
List of topics
The topics of interest for AUPC'2007 workshop include but are not limited
to:
Agent-Oriented Software Engineering for UPC
Coordination and interaction models for software agents
Mobile collaboration systems for UPC
Peer-to-peer services and Information distribution for UPC
Middleware for UPC
Multi-agent Systems for UPC
Self-organization of Multi-agent Systems
Spontaneous and adhoc Service Emergence
Methodologies and techniques for agent-based web service discovery and
composition systems
Service-oriented agent-based architectures
User and context self-awareness for UPC
Specification, validation and verification of agent-based systems for UPC
Software agents security and privacy issues for UPC
Paper Submission and Proceedings
Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts, which should be written
in English and with a very precise and concise presentation of no more than
6 pages in IEEE double-column format. Authors are invited to send their
manuscripts as an attachment (PDF or PS format) by email to the workshop
chairs at gaber at utbm.fr and bakhouya at gwu.edu. Submission implies the
willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the
paper.
Accepted papers will be available on IEEExplore.
Important Dates
Papers are to be submitted electronically
Submission deadline: extended to April 23, 2007
Notification of acceptance: May 2, 2007
Final Manuscript due: May 10, 2007
Special issue's volume of selected papers (revised and extended version),
presented at the workshop, will be published in the International
Transactions on Systems Science and Applications (ITSSA)
