PhD Position (Service-Oriented Architectures, Model-Driven Engineering)

The Rainbow research group at I3S lab / University of Nice Sophia
Antipolis is looking for one PhD student starting from October 2007 for
3 years. The available post is partly funded by the french RNTL
project FAROS and involves research in service-oriented software systems
using model-driven engineering techniques, with emphasis on variability
and reliability during system design and at runtime.
The I3S lab is set in the Sophia Antipolis Technology Park, combining a
large scientific and industrial community with a stunning location in
the south of France.
Applicants should have a BSc/MSc degree in Computing (or equivalent to
the French Master degree). Demonstration of research skills through an
internship is preferred. He/she will work in an active research
environment and will have to adapt to the broad spectrum of technologies
used. His/Her work will involve collaboration with a large national
consortium. The work will require some travelling, to participate to
meetings related to the project (in France) and scientific conferences
(international). Excellent speaking and writing skills in English and/or
French are expected. Knowledge of metamodelling with Eclipse, web
services technologies and related research will be appreciated.
