Call for Workshop Proposals, CAiSE’08, 16-20th June 2008, Montpellier, France

Proposal deadline 14th October 2007

The 20th CAiSE will focus on Sustainable Information Systems (SIS). The 
workshops associated with the conference will explore a variety of new 
techniques required to ensure sustainability, evolution, adaptability and 
self-management of large and complex computer systems.

CAiSE’08 invites proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with the 
conference, related to the CAiSE topics, and covering new emerging topics, 
in particular.

Workshop proposals should be submitted to the workshop chairs, Xavier 
Franch [franch at lsi.upc.edu] and Ela Hunt [hunt at inf.ethz.ch]. Prior contact 
with the workshop chairs is encouraged.

The organizer(s) of approved workshops will be responsible for advertising 
their workshop, for the reviewing process for their workshop's papers, and 
for the collection of camera-ready copies of accepted papers (verifying 
that they comply with the formatting rules). Organizers (including 
co-organizers) are expected to attend their entire workshop and to provide 
a summary of the event, for presentation to CAiSE organisers.

Deadline for proposals 14th October 2007
Decision on acceptance 30th October 2007
Workshop camera ready date (firm): April 15, 2008
Workshops: one or two days 16-17 June 2008, Montpellier, France



DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSERS:

The proposal (length up to 1000 words) should cover the following points:
1. Workshop title, length (1 day, 2 days), preferred date.
2. Organisers (PC chairs, other organisers who will be present at the 
workshop or are otherwise involved, including the person responsible for 
the web presence and communications). Please include names, addresses, 
affiliations, and indicate who is the main responsible person. The 
submission should include a one-paragraph biographical sketch for each 
organizer, describing relevant qualifications and experience.
3. Purpose: How does the focus of the workshop differ from the main 
conference. What are the main goals. List the workshop topics.
4. Organization of the workshop. Include any special requirement on 
infrastructure and room layout.
5. List of PC members.
6. An estimate of number of papers to be accepted, and number of attendees. 
If applicable, short information on previous editions of the workshop 
series (this should include attendance information).
7. Short information on your plans for publicising your workshop and making 
it highly visible.

Services provided by CAiSE :
1. One free workshop registration for every 10 registrations.
2. Publication of proceedings, based on a pack of source files delivered by 
the PC chairs, including a preface, list of authors, and other 
documentation (to be defined).
3. Workshops will benefit from the local organizational infrastructure and 
receive administrative support (registration, badges, refreshments, hotel 
booking, room rental, beamers, screens, etc.).

The workshop may be cancelled if the number of submissions is low.
