The 1st International Workshop on Java for Mobility (Ja4Mo 07)
                            as part of the
International Conf. on Principles and Practices of Programming In Java
                             (PPPJ 2007)

                          5th September 2007
Monte de Caparica - Lisbon, Portugal

Mobility is a key concept that must be taken into consideration when
developing today’s distributed and open applications. The Java language
exhibits several features that make it suitable to support mobile
applications and environments, though further work is still needed.
The aim of this workshop is twofold: on the one hand, we will
investigate which kind of support Java can provide to develop mobile
applications and environments; on the other hand, we will explore the
most interesting proposals to enhance the Java language with a
full-fledged support for computation mobility (e.g. thread migration),
both at the syntactical level (new language features and concepts) and
at the infrastructural level (JVM technology to enable thread mobility).

We solicit papers (from researchers and practitioners) that address key
issues, approaches, open problems, and innovative applications related
to mobility and Java.

Topics of interests include but are not limited to:
- Java support for mobility
- Comparison between Java features for mobility and other languages
- Mobile computing
- Mobile Agents in Java
- Support for Java code migration
- Support for weak and strong mobility
- Support for mobility of Java resources
- Applications to parallel and distributed computations

Papers should contain original contributions not published or submitted
elsewhere, and references to related state-of-the art work. Authors of
accepted papers are expected to present their papers at the workshop.
Papers up to 6 pages (including figures, tables and references) can be
submitted online by means of the Web page
http://smv.unige.ch/pppj2007/openconf/openconf.php All submitted papers
will be peer-reviewed by a minimum of three program committee members.

The conference proceedings will be published as part of the ACM
International Proceedings Series and will be disseminated through the
ACM Digital Library. The required format for the submission is the ACM
SIG Proceedings Style. Please apply the ACM Computing Classification
categories and terms. The ACM Computing Classification scheme can be
found at http://www.acm.org/class/1998/. The author kit containing the
Latex, Word and Word Perfect templates for the required style can be
found at http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html.
The final number of allowed pages per paper will be communicated to
authors of accepted papers along with the acceptance notification.

If you have further questions or remarks, please do not hesitate to
contact the workshop organizers.
