SCOPE: Ambient media and systems culminate from the emergence of mobile communication, sensor-actuator technology, virtual environments, and interactive computing. They represent the vision of an all-encompassing multimedia networking environment with human interaction at its core. Advances in computer and communication technologies have the potential to offer people an unprecedented level of convenience and flexibility for living and working. Such technologies need to be closely integrated with human interactions and activity, allowing greater support for smart solutions that improve quality of life, productivity, understanding and intelligence within their situated environment. Ambi-sys focuses on emerging technologies, services and solutions for new, human-centric intelligent ambient environments. The conference is structured into the following areas, each of which focuses on improving the state-of-the-art for ambient media and systems:
- Media and Content Provision
- Human Interface and Interaction
- Communications and Networking
- Intelligence and Automation
Journal special issue: Selected papers of the conference will be included in a special issue of the ACM/Springer Mobile Networks and Applications.
Student paper awards: Four student prizes will be awarded to the best papers authored by full time students as first author.
Workshops: Proposals for workshops should highlight the motivation for the workshop and stress how the proposers intend to provide more insight into the conference topics. Workshop proposals should be submitted to the workshop chair, K. Selcuk Candan (candan at asu.edu), by June 15, 2007. Please include the title of the workshop, a description of the topic, motivation for the workshop, the names of key organizers such as program chair(s), and a tentative list of PC members.
