[ecoop-info] A central place to look up and announce CS events

Dear ECOOP community:

Informatics Europe is offering a new service to conference goers,
submitters and organizers: a list of events with an easy mechanism to
add entries. Any computer science event with innovative content, held
anywhere, is eligible. The service is at

	http://events.informatics-europe.org

where you will already find a few entries about current events, although
we expect many more in the coming weeks.

You can sort the list by event name, event date, Call for Papers
deadline (useful when you are wondering where to publish your latest
result) or country.

You can register your own events using a simple Web form; after approval
by the site administrator (which may take a day or two), the conference
will have its page on the site, with a link to its own home page.

As is normal with a new service, we expect that some aspects may require
improvements in the coming months in response to user feedback. But it's
operational now.

There is no general service of this kind (with interfaces for both
readers and event organizers) elsewhere, and we hope
http://events.informatics-europe.org will become the central reference
for CS conference announcements. Please take advantage of it.

Thanks,

-- Bertrand Meyer
