The International Conference on Aspect-Oriented Software Development
(AOSD) is the premier conference on software modularity, with an
emphasis on novel notions of modularity that crosscut traditional
abstraction boundaries. The conference offers several tracks,
including the Research and Industry tracks, which bring together
leading researchers and practitioners working in the fields of
software engineering, programming languages, and software systems.
AOSD welcomes submissions of high quality in all areas related to
aspects, ranging from foundational research studies to experience
reports about applying aspects in projects. Papers that present
elegant, instructive examples of aspect oriented programs are also
welcome.
Continuing the tradition of its successful predecessors, the program
of AOSD.08 will include:
- A Research Track presenting the newest research results.
- An Industry Track where architects and developers with experience
in aspects gather to learn and teach.
- Workshops for in-depth discussion of advanced topics in industry
and research.
- A coordinated educational program to provide foundations for
research
in the field.
- Demonstrations of leading-edge technologies.
- Panels that stimulate thoughtful discussion of controversial
topics.
- Birds of a Feather sessions.
- A highly interactive Student Extravaganza.
- A range of social activities encouraging informal discussion
among peers
More information on these tracks and guidelines for submission can be
found on the conference website: http://www.aosd.net/2008/

Submissions will be carried out electronically via CyberChair. Papers
must be submitted in either PDF format or as PostScript documents
that are interpretable by Ghostscript. Submissions should be no more
than 12 pages (including bibliography and any appendices) in standard
ACM SIGPLAN conference format:
http://www.acm.org/sigs/sigplan/authorInformation.htm
The submission deadline, length limitations and formatting
instructions are firm: any submissions that deviate from these will
be rejected by the research program chair. Submitted papers must
adhere to SIGPLAN’s republication policy. Each paper should explain
its contributions in both general and technical terms, clearly
identifying what has been accomplished, explaining why it is
significant, and comparing it with previous work. Where appropriate,
systems and experimental data should be made available on the web.
Authors should strive to make the technical content of their papers
understandable to a broad audience.
The Research Program Chair is Mira Mezini (Technische Universität
Darmstadt). Prospective authors are welcome to direct any queries
about the research program to the chair at research at aosd.net
General information about the research, workshop, tutorial, demo and
industry tracks is available at the conference website: http://
