QoS Control and Traffic Modeling Track
http://www.icccn.org/icccn08/App_Themes/Theme1/Cfps/QoS.pdf
QoS (Quality of Service) control technologies will be a crucial part of
various future networks regardless of wired or wireless. In particular, the
rapid growth in interactive multimedia applications, such as video
telephony, video games and TV broadcasting has strongly hoped spectacular
progress of state-of-the-art QoS frameworks. In addition, so-called NGN
(Next Generation Network) mainly focuses on the realization of QoS
enhancement mechanisms. On the other hand, traffic modeling and analysis
technologies are vitally important to properly estimate and evaluate the
impact of unknown future traffic patterns due to new network applications,
such as P2P and overlay traffic or aggregated multimedia traffic.
This symposium focuses on recent advances in QoS control technologies and
traffic modeling. It aims to foster interaction of researchers and exchange
of new ideas by bringing together members of the QoS-enhanced networking and
its traffic modeling communities. The technical program of the symposium
consists of regular papers and posters. We solicit original and unpublished
research achievements in various aspects of QoS control and traffic
modeling, including, but not limited to, the following topics:
QoS protocols
QoS-enhanced network architectures
Adaptive QoS provisioning
Network planning and optimization for QoS
Application level QoS
QoS in multimedia systems
QoS routing and multicasting
Inter-domain QoS control
QoS support in switch and router architectures
IP QoS
QoS in wired, wireless, mobile, optical, and ubiquitous networks
QoS in P2P networks
QoS analysis and modeling
TCP modeling
Experimental results on QoS
